Depuis l’effondrement de la Terre et de son système écologique, les hommes vivent dans de petites stations spatiales surpeuplées. Le seul espoir est RHEA, une planète paradisiaque à cinq années lumière de la Terre. A bord du vaisseau Kassandra, tout l’équipage est plongé dans un profond cryo-sommeil à l’exception d’une jeune doctoresse. Au fil de ses gardes, elle a de plus en plus la sensation de ne pas être la seule éveillée…
